Recognizing the enormity of the challenges our society faces, TALI is dedicated to making a lasting impact through our projects and programs. While our efforts are driven by our organization’s singular focus, we spread a wide net by investing in a variety of progressive strategies. These programs need to have been proven effective and produced time-bound results in order to receive continuous funding. The team carefully monitors and verifies program performances and results.

TALI'S SKINCARE SENSITIZATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR PERSONS WITH ALBINISM (PWA) ‘24

On the 10th of December, 2024, The Ability Life Initiative (TALI), in its commitment towards bridging the gap for Persons with Disabilities, hosted its second skincare sensitization and outreach program for Persons with Albinism (PWA). This event, held in Owerri, Imo State follows the success of the first edition in Abuja.

As proud indigenes of Imo State, the founders of TALI, Mrs. Oprah Uzodimma-Ohaeri and Barr. Prada Uzodimma were honored to bring this impactful initiative home.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Emehibe Samuelson, Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Special Citizens; Dr. (Lady) Chinonyerem Edomobi Nonye, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs; Pastor Ibegbulem Victor, President of the Albinism Association of Nigeria, Imo State Chapter; representatives from Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) media house; and the consultant leading the training, Mrs. Adizet Sedi.

During the program, participants were equipped with knowledge on their unique skincare needs and received protective sleeves and sunscreens. Persons with Albinism face distinctive challenges, and we remain dedicated to supporting their well-being and celebrating the diversity of their beauty.

TRAINING PROGRAM ON USE OF ADAPTIVE COMMUNICATION DEVICES FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF OF GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL KUJE ‘24

On the 28th of June, 2024, The Ability Life Initiative (TALI), founded by Mrs. Oprah Uzodimma-Ohaeri and Barr. Prada Uzodimma made significant strides in bridging the educational gap for persons with disabilities by conducting an educational outreach at the Government Secondary School Kuje.

During this event, TALI donated inclusive learning materials, ranging from electronic tablets with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) software, educational posters, voice recorders, wheelchairs, a projector and a laptop. We also provided training on the use of these tools to ensure maximum benefit for both students and staff.


The event was honored by the presence of several dignitaries, including Aliyu Mai from the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), Priscilla Okorodudu from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (FMHAPA), Blessing Abani from the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), and Lawrence Idemudia from the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), among others.

This outreach is a step towards bridging the educational gaps for PWDs, aligning with our mission at TALI.

On the 14th of October, 2023 , The Ability Life Initiative in it’s commitment towards bridging the gap for Persons with Disability, organised a one day skincare sensitization and outreach program for Persons with Albinism (PWA).

The event was graced by several dignitaries such as Hon. Bashiru Dawodu Chairman House Committee on Disability, Obi Chiamaka representative from the Joint National Association of Persons with Disability (JONAPWD), Sunday Hezekiah, Namah Raliat R, Veronica Joseph, Zainab Ubam ,representatives from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation( FMHAPA) , the Federal Ministry of Health ( FMOH), Federal Ministry of Education (FMOE) , National Human Rights Commission( NHRC), Gloria Ekarika representative from National commission for person with disability amongst others.

Through the program, Persons with Albinism (PWA) were provided with the knowledge and tools for their unique skin needs along with protective sleeves and sunscreens being distributed. Persons with Albinism face unique challenges, but we believe that one's true beauty transcends their abilities or disabilities.

TALI'S INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP ON EDUCATIONAL DISABILITIES CONTINUES AT GDSS WUSE II.   ‘22

On the 12th of October 2022, The Ability Life Initiative ( TALI ) conducted another Interactive Workshop on Educational Disabilities. This workshop involved the teachers and students of Government Day Secondary School, Wuse II.

This workshop was a great success in raising the necessary awareness and delving briefly into coping mechanisms for certain educational disabilities. This Interactive workshop which is in line with TALI’s arm on Education marks another great milestone, as students and teachers are left with more answers than questions as to how to deal with these educational disabilities. 

A big thank you to the Principal of GDSS Wuse II for affording TALI this opportunity. Thank you to the School’s Counsellor, teachers, and students present who were very accommodating.  Lastly, to our volunteers for constantly supporting TALI’s projects. 

TALI KICKSTARTS ITS INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP ON EDUCATIONAL DISABILITIES.   22

On the 17th of June, 2022, The Ability Life Initiative (TALI) kickstarted an interactive workshop on educational disabilities with the students and staff of Government Secondary School, Jabi.

In line with TALI’s motto of bridging the gap for persons with disabilities, this interactive workshop sort to educate students and staff of GSS Jabi on identifying learning disabilities and the key steps to copying with them. It was a good opportunity to also touch on the ideals of “inclusive education” and its importance & advantage of adapting to the Nigerian Educational system. 

A huge thank you to the Principal and VP admin of GSS Jabi for giving us the opportunity to host this interactive workshop and to our volunteers who were paramount in making the workshop a success.

CHILDREN'S DAY TALENT SHOW FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED STUDENTS,
 ABUJA. 22

On the 27th of May which marks the Children’s Day celebration, The Ability Life Initiative in partnership with Youth for Impact Initiative organized a Talent Show for visually impaired children at the School for the Blind, Jabi, Abuja. 

The event was graced with the presence of The First Lady of Imo State, Her Excellency Barr. Chioma Uzodimma , Director Social Integration National Commission for Persons With Disability (NCPWD) - Mr. Lawrence Idemudia, Assitant Manager Programmes NTA - Mr. Francis A. Ogbe, Co-founder Partners for Health Equity (P4HE) - Sarah Martin, Founder Grassroot Initiative for Gender & Development - Mr. Noel Balogun alongside many other distinguished guests. 

Our Talent show for the Visually impaired children was a success. Congratulations to members of the choir team for winning first place, the Abuja tribe cultural dance and the debate club who took the 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The smiles on the children’s faces were inspiring and TALI hopes to do a lot more to bridge the gap for persons living with disabilities.

INTERACTIVE SEMINAR AT THE SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND, JABI, ABUJA. 22

Members of the Youth for Impact Initiative alongside the Co-founders of The Ability Life Initiative (TALI) Oprah Uzodimma- Ohaeri and Barr. Prada Uzodimma visited The School for the Blind Jabi, Abuja - in a bid to encourage and motivate the students that visual impairment is not a death sentence. 

The theme of the day was “ Hope and possibilities “ and as one of our founders Barr. Prada Uzodimma highlighted to the children “Anything is possible “. TALI uses this means to emphasize the need for inclusive education for all persons living with disabilities.

Thank you to the Youth for Impact Initiative for spearheading this interactive seminar and helping to truly bridge the gap for persons with disability.

PARA SOCCER .21

The National Professional Officer for UNESCO Abuja, Ifeanyi Ajaegbo, and Misbahu Lawan DIDI - Founder and President of Para-soccer Federation of Nigeria, organized the Parasocccer for persons with disabilities. In attendance was Chuks Anyadyba, Co-Founder for International Initiatives for Advancement of SDGs in Africa (IIASDG), Lamine Sow -  Chief of Education/OIC for UNESCO Abuja, Ubon UDOH - CEO of Abdul Samad Rabiu Initiative, and the Co-founders of the Ability Life Initiative (TALI), Prada and Oprah Uzodimma.  

Para Soccer is an adapted version of mainstream soccer or football being played by persons with disabilities. This sport is inclusive for all ages and is a great option particularly for individuals with disabilities or other related physical disabilities to be active in sports.

Congratulations to Team VOA( Veterans of Abuja) for winning the cup. Here at Tali, we strive to make all aspects of life inclusive for persons living with all forms of disabilities.
